GROWSAFE® APPLIED CERTIFICATE ~
This certificate is designed for owners or managers of properties and those who instruct others on the use of agrichemicals. This course builds on the skills gained in the Introductory course and is a requirement of most Regional Councils.

The course is a personalized programme, tailored to meet your industry requirements.

Course Content:

  • Two (2) days theory in house or classroom
  • One (1) day site visit to your place of work
  • Course structured round ZS8409:2004 Management of Agrichemicals
  • HSNO and Approved Handler components including Emergency Management and Preparedness procedures
  • Transport and storage of agrichemicals.
  • Full sprayer calibration check
  • Integrated pest management (IPM)
  • All course participants receive an Agrichemical Management Safety Plan
  • Avoiding hazards to human health using correct PPE
  • Understanding agrichemical and animal remedy labels
  • Avoiding residues in food and the environment
  • Nozzle selection and drift reduction
  • Agrichemical self check list
  • Self study programme
  • Open book assessments

Certificate valid for 5 years.
