FIRST CHEMICAL RATING COURSE RUN
AT OMAKA ~
The first course to get the initial pilot chemical
rating was run at Omaka Aerodrome last week. Candidates must
first have the pre-requisite Growsafe Introductory Certificate
(Ground Crew) then do this two day course at Omaka then complete
the site visit.
The course has a very comprehensive manual
as well as a good chunk of practical work. One of the real
benefits from running the course at Omaka is the chance to
see how an experienced operator goes about things, including
for example doing an actual calibration.
The pictures show some of what went on -
the first (below) shows the people involved:

(From left Greg Price and Owen
Dodson from Marlborough Helicopters, Candidates Steven Ashcroft
and Brian Grant, John Sinclair from Marlborough Helicopters
and AIA, and Murray Beare from Educhem who was the course
Tutor ).
The second picture (below) shows a number
of different nozzle types being demonstrated.
Candidates for the next course should
contact TBT
Ltd (penny@tbt.co.nz
or phone 0274 962 782) to check when the next course will
be run.
